Installation

Gaivota is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Follow these steps to get started.

System Requirements

  • macOS: 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • Linux: Ubuntu 20.04, Fedora 33, or equivalent

Download

Download the latest version of Gaivota from the official website:

Choose the installer for your operating system:

Installation Steps

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  2. Drag Gaivota to your Applications folder
  3. Open Gaivota from Applications
  4. If prompted about an unidentified developer, right-click the app and select "Open"

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded .exe installer
  2. Follow the installation wizard
  3. Launch Gaivota from the Start menu or desktop shortcut

Linux

Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo dpkg -i gaivota_x.x.x_amd64.deb

AppImage:

chmod +x Gaivota_x.x.x_amd64.AppImage
./Gaivota_x.x.x_amd64.AppImage

First Launch

When you first open Gaivota, you'll see a welcome screen prompting you to add an email account.

Gaivota supports:

  • Microsoft accounts (Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, work/school accounts)
  • Gmail accounts (personal and Google Workspace)

Continue to Adding Accounts to connect your email.

Data Storage

Gaivota stores all data locally on your computer:

Your emails are cached locally for fast access. Credentials are stored securely in your operating system's keychain.
